Nascido em Lisboa em Setembro de 1967. Começou a surfar em 1984 na Costa da Caparica, onde surfou frequentemente até ao principio dos anos 90. No inicio de começar a surfar já se interessava pelos arranjos de pranchas de surf, começando logo cedo a ter contacto com a fibra de vidro, resina e o foam, chegando mesmo a produzir o seu própio wax.

Ainda no fim dos anos 80 fez a sua primeira prancha com um amigo, e assim começou a Rush Surfboards, que depois mudaria para a Costa da Caparica com o nome de Atitude Surfboards, na garagem do conhecido local Tito Costa.

No verão de 1984, a convite de um amigo, veio a conhecer a Praia da Areia Branca, e posteriormente toda a zona entre Santa Cruz e Peniche, mas foi principalmente na Praia da Areia Branca, onde passou muitos verões e fins de semana. Até que em 1994, acabaria por ficar a viver, e fundando com a sua mulher (Helena) a Backdoor Surf Shop. Pouco tempo depois vem a ser um dos três fundadores do P.S.C. (Praia Surf Clube), onde foi Presidente e colaborador do clube durante vários anos.

Depois de algum tempo praticamente inactivo na arte de shapear, volta à carga em 2003 com a colaboração de Carlos Vaz e fundam a BD Surfboards. Em 2004, através de Pedro Casanovas, vem a conhecer um dos novos talentos na arte de shapear em Portugal, Hugo Cartaxanas, dono da já conhecidíssima S.P.O. (Surfing Professional Organization), por onde já passaram e continuam a passar shapers de renome internacional, como Jeff Bushman, Bruce Mckee, Jason Flannagan, Johnny Cabianca, Chris Hunt, Fábio Figueiredo, etc. Aprende com Hugo a utilizar a nova tecnologia de pre-shape computorizado, O D.S.D. ( Digital Surf Design ), e onde aprende também novas técnicas de shape com ele, e com o conhecido shaper e laminador, Fábio Figueiredo, entre outros.

Borned at September 1967, in Lisbon. Started surfing in 84 at Costa da Caparica, where he surfed often untill early 90's. At the early days he already enjoy to work with fiberglass, resin and foam, he even produced is own wax.

At the end of the 80's he made his first surfboard with a friend, and that´s how Rush Surfboards born, then moved up to Costa da Caparica with a new brand, Atitude Surfboards, at the garage of a well known local, Tito Costa.

In the summer of 1984, a friend made an invitation to spend the hollydays surfing at Areia Branca Beach, and after started to explore the surf zone between Santa Cruz to Peniche, but mostly at Areia Branca area, where he spent many hollydays and weekends. In 1994 he moved up to Areia Branca Beach, and with his wife (Helena), they founded the Backdoor Surf Shop. After a while he was one of the three founders of P.S.C. (Praia Surf Clube), where he was the President and colaborator for several years.

After some years almost without shaping, he charged back in 2003 with the collaboration of Carlos Vaz, and found BD Surfboards. In 2004 he met one of the new most talented shaper in Portugal, Hugo Cartaxanas , owner of the famous S.P.O. ( Surfing Professional Organization), where names like Jeff Bushman, Bruce Mckee, Jason Flannagan, Johny Cabianca, Chris Hunt, Fábio Figueiredo have worked there, or still work). He learned with Hugo and amongst others how to work with the new pre-shape computer technology, the D.S.D ( Digital Surf Design ).
